Carolina Christmas returns to Charlotte Motor Speedway for a third year. It’s now being called Speedway Christmas. It will be open nightly from November 19th, 2012, through December 30th, every night except for Christmas. The hours are 6pm to 10pm. Drive through the infield and see 800 displays made up of more than 3 million holiday lights. On Thursdays through Sundays, the Christmas Village is open too, including a realistic Bethlehem-themed village, a petting zoo, photos with Santa, ice skating, Santa’s Workshop for kids, and areas with food and music. I went to Carolina Christmas a couple years ago and thought it was great. It’s even bigger this year. New this year is an ice rink, for an additional $12. It’s open during the day as well as the night, and through January. Check out the whole schedule.
The price is reasonable. $15 on Mondays through Wednesdays, and $20 on Thursdays through Sundays when the Christmas Village is open. Follow this link to learn how to purchase tickets.
Movies will be shown on Friday and Saturday nights:
Nov. 23 and 24: “Polar Express”
Nov. 30 and Dec. 1: “It’s A Wonderful Life”
Dec. 7 and 8: “Elf”
Dec. 14 and 15: “A Christmas Story”
Dec. 21 and 22: “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas”
Dec. 28 and 29: “Christmas Vacation”
