The annual Cabarrus Powwow is moving this year from Frank Liske Park to Boy Scouts of America’s Camp Cabarrus campground, 4827 Camp Cabarrus Drive in Kannapolis. This free family-friendly festival is not affiliated with a specific Native American tribe, but seeks to educate the community on Native American traditions and culture. The festival is on Friday, September 21st, 2012, and Saturday, September 22nd.

10:00 pm Craft Contest
10:00 am Fur & Feathers (A hands on learning experience.)
11:00 am Gourd dancing
12:00 pm Princess contest registration deadline
3:00 pm Intertribal dancing
7:30 pm Grand entry – Intertribal dancing
Crazy Midnight Auction
Begins 30 minutes after evening session ends.
