More info:
Indie-folk artist Paleface, with his three-person band that includes drummer/singer Monica “Mo” Samalot and guitarist Grey Revell, will be performing at The Evening Muse, at the corner of 36th Street and North Davidson, on Saturday, August 25th, 2012. Jeremy Current will be opening at 8pm and Paleface will take the stage at 9pm. Paleface is offering up two prizes:
If you think you’re not familiar with Paleface’s music, you might be surprised. His influence as a singer/songwriter is noted by Kimya Dawson (of the Moldy Peaches – you would know her music from the movie Juno) and Beck. If you’re an Avett Brothers fan you will recognize Paleface’s voice on songs like Dancing Daze (written by Paleface) and Go To Sleep.
As far as his own tunes, Paleface’s latest album, One Big Party, really does feel like a party, happy and upbeat, and his live performances do too. You’ll feel good. The raw quality of Paleface’s voice is perfectly balanced by the sweet clarity of Mo’s, and it doesn’t take long to be charmed by their chemistry.
