Kids get into the Mint Museum for free Sunday, September 16th, 2012, from 1pm to 4pm, and adults are half price (just $5.) Bring the family and try out some special activities. This month the program is Recycled Masterpieces – The Art of Vik Muniz. Explore one artist’s unique approach to material and meaning in the exhibition VantagePoint X – Vik Muniz: Garbage Matters.
You will gain a new appreciation for the art of junk. Families can collaborate with sculptor Dean Johns to make a giant cardboard assemblage, upcycle unexpected materials to create a portrait, learn more about recycling and play “garbage games.” Also join Criss, Cross Mangosauce for a bilingual blend of music and activities.
