Modern Film Fest will take place in Kannapolis Friday, October 5th, 2012, to October 7th. Its worthy goal is to make independent films available for viewing in Cabarrus County and North Carolina. It gets prominent notice on Charlotte on the Cheap because it’s making these films affordable to everyone. Each individual film is only $4. I will provide more information later, and you can see the list of films here, but I wanted to mention right away that tickets for one film are on sale now and they might sell out quickly.
The films will be shown in the beautiful Gem Theatre, 111 West 1st Street in Kannapolis. The Gem is one of a kind: just one screen, but 900 seats and a balcony.
On Friday, October 5th, 2012, at 8pm, The Gem Theatre is screening Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, and the director, Nicholas Meyer, will be there to participate in a Q&A after the film. You can buy tickets now for just $4 plus $1 service fee.
There will be a costume contest before the screening. The costumes don’t have to be from Star Trek.
More details later, I promise!
