Let me list the ways I love Goodwill stores. I love savings loads of money on clothes. I love the new items from Target that show up on the shelves. I love the extremely odd and fun items that I occasionally find. I love the “clothes by the pound” at the Goodwill Outlet store. (That’s $1.39 a pound.) I love that 88 cents out of every dollar I spend goes toward helping people enter the work force. And on September 8th, 2012, I’ll have one more thing to love. Huntersville Goodwill, at 14420 N. Statesville Road, is celebrating its grand opening. A ribbon-cutting will start the festivities at 8:30am. Then the doors will open at 9am, and there will be music and giveaways from 9am until 12pm, with several chances to win a $250 USAir gift card. The Huntersville Goodwill, the 22nd Goodwill in the region, will have regular store hours of Monday through Thursday from 9:30am. to 9pm, Friday and Saturday from 9am to 9pm and Sunday from noon until 7pm.

I found awesome Reddish brown mary jane doc martens for $4. I bought them in 1999 & i still have them & still wear them!
I love, love, love Goodwill. A few months ago I found a full size white wicker headboard for only $15. It was in Great shape and didn’t even need painting. I love finding clothes and shoes for my grandson too!!
Best thing? How can I name that? I get a whole new wardrobe every Spring and Fall. Just yesterday I did a ton of back to school shopping for the family.

I love shopping at Goodwill, and the best thing I have ever found at Goodwill is a huge stuffed seal for my dog Cain. He loves it.

There have been many things over the years but my favorite purchase from goodwill were two separate dvd players for the car. $15 total for both!
The best thing I’ve ever found at a Goodwill? A new recliner for my wife and a brand new office chair for my new home office, all in the same visit!

Best things I’ve ever found at Goodwill are lots of hearing aids battery for $1.99 each. I was shocked at the prices and had to buy them all and it last me a long time! =)

I purchased a Ralph Lauren tweed blazer with a suede collar and elbow patches. I bought it this summer and I’ve been patiently waiting for the temperature to drop so that I can wear it
I love how much you can get for so little and seeing my kids get excited about their Goodwill finds.
I found a signed & numbered water color from a local Charlotte artist that was around $10 and found out that it is worth several hundred. Doesn’t matter though, I love it and have it hanging in my living room where it will stay! LOVE GOODWILL!!!!

I have found so much over the years it is hard to pick just 1 thing. I cloth my family at Goodwill and I think we look pretty good. My daughter’s love the books! We have an awesome kiddos library at our house all thanks to GW for barely anything. Love shopping there!
I’ve found a large pitcher and a large strainer that I use when brewing beer for hardly anything.
A vintage Burberry purse with a little wear. A good wash with a rag made it look brand new!
Men’s blazers for my son. All his formal wear was purchased there!
The most awesome thing I have ever found at Goodwill is BOTH of my children’s back to school wardrobes for the 12/13 school year. Everything was name brand (GAP, Gymboree, Levi, etc) and in mint condition-this took an entire summer of dedicated Goodwill shopping!!
Maternity clothes! Who wants to spend a fortune on clothes that you’re only going to wear a couple of times?!
A giant stuffed animal – snow leopard was my best find. Sooo soft. It was expensive, from WWF, and I got it for 3 bucks!
I found post baby clothes…after wearing maternity clothes for 9 months, I was over the high elastic waist so I went to goodwill and stocked up on clothes to wear until the baby weight was gone, I had so much luck, it is my favorite place to shop now! Retail is for suckers, I buy 2nd hand!
I have lots of Goodwill finds…Steve Madden handbag, BCBG shoes and much much more. I love shopping there! Glad to have another location to shop nearby!!
lol I, too, am having trouble narrowing down to the best thing! I usually get books and baskets and shirts, but I’d prob have to say one of the most useful items was a wafflemaker – I use that thing almost daily!
Many great finds in the way of shoes & bags; however, some of my favorite things have been posted & can be seen on thriftwrecks.com! So many, um, unique items you just can’t find ANYWHERE ELSE!
I have found several great items already with tags. With a bit of patience I can usually walk out with a few great finds for pennies on the dollar. Thanks for sharing!
The best things I’ve found are Kasper lined skirts for work. I’ve also been able to help my daughter get some suits for work and she looks amazing in them! Thank goodness for Goodwill!
I found a Calphalon anodized saute pan (normal cost $200) for $5!
My best finds at Goodwill have been items from Build A Bear Workshop! My daughter is 6 and this is her favorite store. Just this past weekend we found SIX different build a bears, one with a complete outfit, and also an accessory kit. It cost me $7 total for everything and made me the best mom on the planet!
I found uniform pants for my son when he riped his at the end of the school year. Happy Mom!

My most memorable Goodwill trip was taking my mom on a shopping spree to get some “hip” clothes. Not only did we find some great outfits and unbeatable prices, but we had a fun mom and daughter bonding experience.

I’ve found tons of stuff. one of my favorites and one of the best deals I’ve gotten have been a 2 sets of lined thermal gorgeous blue curtains that were brand new from Target. Retail price for all 3 would have been close to $80, i got them for less than $10.

Our family has found many great buys at Goodwill. We have found clothes, furniture and books there. It really helps us save money. Our best finds were toys for the kids: we got a brand new in the box set of snap circuits for our son and a Ripstick for the kids to share. It is awesome to find fun things at such a great deal!

I found a pair of black L.A.M.B shoes (Gwen Stefani) at the Goodwill on Freedom Drive. The shoes retailed for $175, I paid less than a $1!!!

I love the Goodwill near me because I’m constantly finding books for my toddler. I recently found a spanish/english version of Goodnight Moon that she adores. Not to mention the AWESOME jean jacket with little flowers I found for her a few weeks ago that she hasn’t had a chance to wear because it hasn’t been cool enough.
The best thing I’ve found at Goodwill so far was a cute, sparkly, plum-colored cardigan from New York & Company. It matched a dress I was wearing to a wedding perfectly! I’m still waiting to find that perfect designer handbag
I found a brand new pair of Pea in the Pod maternity jeans (with tags!) Love me some Goodwill!
Oh let me count the ways I love Goodwill! I have found beautiful clothes for myself. Johnson and Murphy shoes for $15 for my husband, which by the way has converted him into a Goodwill fan! I found a brand new Hoover steam cleaner for the house for $8.00!! I found my daughter a like new play kitchen worth $225 for only $25.00. The items are endless!! It’s the only way with three kids that we get to shop and not feel guilty!

Love the Goodwill Stores!! Over the years, I’ve found many “treasures” but my favorite was an Ethan Allen 3 drawer chest for $40! Sturdy drawers, minimal wear…so I painted it and have had it for 4 years.
I have found SO much stuff I love at Goodwill. Probably the best deal I have ever gotten was a formal gown for $4.50. My son loves the book selection.
I have so many great Goodwill finds… a vintage brass mailbox, singer sewing machine, and lots of art!
There are so many great finds that it is hard to narrow it down. I will go with a black fur coat that I got in the Buckhead Goodwill two years ago. It is warm and fierce!
My favorite find has been three snowmen that light up and move their heads from side to side – I can’t wait to use them in my yard this year. However, my most fun buy was a $5 painting that a woman stalked me over for 15 minutes.

Once, at a Goodwill, I found one of those crying hound dog coin banks that asks for donations to the Humane Society. It was 75 cents. I still use it. Everyone who sees it tries to buy it from me. I’m never letting that badboy go.
My first year teaching, I purchased books at various Goodwill locations for an entire classroom library!
My wife and I found a 25 gallon fishtank with stand, pump, food, decorations and water treatment for $15. All we had to add was rocks and fish.
I cannot narrow it down to one single item! I LOVE each and every item I get from Goodwill for my home and both my childrens homes as well.
The best thing I ever found at Goodwill was a brand new “Cackalacky Film Festival T-shirt”. I always do better in the clothing department here than other departments, and this is a cherished shirt (even though the festival no longer exists).

The best thing my husband and I found at Goodwill was a high end comforter retailed probably a couple hundred dollars. It was brand new and had a “stain” that we were pretty confident would come out. Took it to the cleaners and the stain came out beautifully. It’s on our bed right now. We LOVE it!
I just bought a new desk and chair, both of which were an excellent condition and a great find!
I found a butterfly napkin holder for 49 cents. This will be used for my daughter’s butterfly-themed 1st birthday party.
Found a cpap machine that my husband needed ,didnt have insurance so it came in handy when we found out it didnt work for him we sold it for far more than we got it for.we rally needed the money so it helped us
My best find at Goodwill was a beautiful leather jacket in perfect condition for $3.79. I wear it every fall and get compliments on it almost every time I have it on! Love it!

I found a dress that I have worn over and over again. Always get compliments on it. My sister-in-law found a brand new pair of UGG boots in her size for $3… The boots were new that year and not a discontinued pair… Hard to top that!!!

I love Goodwill and a 50.00 dollar gift card will help out towards my kids some fall and winter clothes. Everything I find at Goodwill is a great find but the one that sticks out the most is I found me a Northface fleece jacket for 4.99 and I love it.Thanks for having such great Goodwill stores near me.
I like to venture into the Mens’ section for some really good finds on collared shirts. This past January I found a red and white collared shirt that I wear as a dress from the mens’ section. It was around $3-$8 range.
I’ve found some great kitchen dishes and items to using for crafts.
Finding random clothing for my daughters adventurous, creative style. Also it’s a good place when Halloween comes to find different things to put together for a costume.
I have found so many wonderful things at Goodwill but the item I loved the most is a three tiered shelf I used in my kitchen. It was perfect.
I go to Goodwill almost daily to browse the shelves for deals on clothes. I have found a lot of great items and a lot still have the price tags on them. Wonderful finds. This is one of my favorite places to shop.

Love Goodwill! Husband and I are down at the beach and we both chuckled when we saw the contest. Why? Because everything we are wearing and the majority of the clothes we brought with us came from Goodwill outlet. But my favorite would be a William Mangum print I found several years ago for a couple of dollars, it was a painting of the Old Well in Chapel Hill and I still have it.
I lost a lot of weight, and none of my clothes fit anymore, so I dropped them off at Goodwill and started restocking the closet. My favorite find was a stack of ten J. Crew and Brooks Brothers dress shirts in my (new) size that someone else had just donated.

We have found lots of great treasures but the best time we had at goodwill was collecting all the pieces to make a real tea party set for my twin daughters, they absolutely love it! Mission complete:)

Clothes for my kids…uniforms, swim shirts, underarmor, costumes…all kinds of good stuff in good shape, for cheap!
My whole wardrobe is comprised of ‘granny’ polyester shirts and dazzling sweaters from fashion eras long past…the best thing about Goodwill for me, that my Mom and husband donate clothes there too! (My wardrobe, I wear until I have to make a patchwork quilt of threadbare shirts)
Like everyone else, I have found some really awesome things at Goodwill from shoes to dresses to dishes! I believe the most appreciated item thus far is the huge kitchen sink by little tikes for my grandchildren. The price was fantastic but how was I going to get it home? A “grandpa” shopping at the store saw my problem and offered to put it in my trunk and tie it down with rope that he had in his car. Wow..not only can we find great bargains at Goodwill, we meet some very friendly/helpful people too!

I love shopping at Goodwill. Over the years I have purchased clothes, shoes, books, handbags and household items. My best purchase was a new pair of insulated curtains for my bedroom which perfectly fit with the rooms decor.
The best thing we’ve found is a new Star Wars Lego set that had been opened but never used! Perfect gift for our son’s birthday.

When my son was getting ready to move into his new home, we found a complete place setting of dishes, for 8, with all the serving pieces, at Goodwill. The dishes were in great condition. However, the dishes are only in s-so condition after my son has used them for over a year!
I almost always walk away with something when visiting Goodwill. I look forward to my next visit & hopefully walk away with a boat load of treasure!
My favorite find at Goodwill is the Billabong cloth shoulder bag I have been using all summer. I love it because the lining fabric is my favorite summer color – coral!
Best thing I bought at Goodwill were a pair of Calvin Klein jeans. They were in great shape and fit better than any jeans I have ever had.
Goodwill helped me get through a lean Christmas, I found gifts and toys to give as gifts and was able to have a Merry Christmas even though money was so short!

I was surprised at things Goodwill have. I went into one the other day and found this Tv stand / Table that looked good and in Perfect condition. I bought it just because i felt that the Goodwill is doing a fine service for all and i wanted to contribute to it’s Good Deeds. I have referred this Good Will to many it is in Ballantyne,NC.
I always find great clothes for me and my family, loved buying by the lb when I lived in CA…..now I know where the store is here I will be going. Always found great fabric, cookbooks, and my personal favorite item. When I was traveling internationally a lot with just a backpack – my 1 item that always made it ‘home’ was a strange piece of red velvet with a row of yellow pompoms on either end. Id place it above a door or window and wherever I was it was instantly ‘home’. Still have it now over 15 years later!

Love Goodwill! I’ve found so many treasures, like Talbots and Ann Taylor clothes! I’m a teacher and I’ve found over the years that Goodwill gives my wardrobe variety without wrecking my budget. Smile to myself every time someone asks me, “Where’d you get that?”
I found a 1970′s handmade crocheted throw in all the colors of the 70′s. It’s so and I love it. Brings back memories of my chidhood.

The very best thing I’ve ever found at Goodwill would have to be my son’s Cars Powerwheel. He loves that thing!
I have found many things!! One being an old copper tub. It needed some cleaning but it has been perfect for drinks when we have parties and decoration!

OMG! It’s hard to have one favorite. Probably the amethyst color Murano glass vase from Italy with 24k gold filigree design on it. But others are: more pieces of my pattern in stoneware, Corningware for my boyfriends daughter to take to college, lots of decorations for the door & entrance to my mothers room now that she is in a nursing home, clothes for myself & others, framed print by my favorite artist Burton Dye, an almost complete set of flatware that goes perfect with my stoneware, classy name brand pocketbooks that look like new, books-for me to read, & books to take to kids & classrooms at the elem school where I used to work, a wrought iron glider for my patio…and the list could go on and on. I buy lots of gifts for others at Goodwill because I’ve been out of work for over 3 yrs, and I can get things that look new and no one ever knows.I love Goodwill!
