Once a month (or more) the artists at McColl Center for Visual Arts, 721 N. Tryon Street, open their studios to the public, so that everyone can see something of the creative process. The next Open Studio Saturday is May 19th, 2012,  from 11am to 6pm. This is a chance to meet the artists and talk with them about their work. Free event.

During Open Studio Saturdays, artists work in their studios with the doors open. It is an opportunity for the public to meet the artists and learn about their art as well as view the current exhibition, Squared, and participate in a hands-on gallery activity. In addition, free docent-led tours will begin at 11:30 AM each Saturday. Current artists-in-residence include: Jackie Chang (CATS Artist-in-Residence), Evan Danchenka (Levine Scholar-in-Residence), Tomoo Kitamura, Deanna Pindell (Environmental Artist-in-Residence), The Que-Os Project (Faron Franks and Manoj Kesavan), JoAnn Sieburg-Baker, Andrea Vail, and Pamela Winegard.
