Parents, this sounds like a really fun event. I saw the preview for Brave and thought it looked great.
Celebrate the new Disney/Pixar release Bravewith Radio Disney at Carolina Place on Saturday, June 9, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Highlights of the day include contests, characters, crafts, games and giveaways.
Brave day at the Mall will feature opportunities to win fantastic prizes, including tickets to the movie premiere on Thursday, June 21 – the day before it opens in theaters nationwide. In addition, visitors can register on site for a chance to win a national grand prize from Radio Disney – a trip for four to an outdoor family adventure or a trip to the Scottish Highland Games in San Francisco.
Brave takes place in 10th century Scotland and follows Merida, a princess and a skilled archer, who is determined to challenge traditions and customs by taking fate into her own hands.
Kids can dress up for Brave day as princes and princesses for a character look-alike contest. Prizes include tickets to the premiere and Carolina Place shop, Etc. gift cards. The first 50 kids to arrive will receive a free Brave poster.
In addition, kids will get the chance to prove they’re “brave” enough to take on the quests that await at the event, including activities such as:
- Brave Trivia
- The Amazing Archery Contest
- Scottish or Nottish?
- Bagpipe Bonanza
- Catapult Launch
- Castle Garden Maze
- Design a Scottish Castle
Additional activities include a craft table and atmosphere characters from the cast of the North Carolina Renaissance Fair.
