Festival in the Park, a festival that is held in Freedom Park in the fall, presents the 2nd Annual Kings Drive Art Walk, and it has expanded from its inaugural year. This arts festival will take place along Little Sugar Creek Greenway, a newly reclaimed natural waterway between East Morehead Street and Pearle Street Bridge along Kings Drive, on Saturday, April 28th, 2012, from 11am to 8pm, and Sunday, April 29th, 2012, from 11am to 6pm. On Saturday, the arts walk is followed by Festival After Dark, featuring the JazzArts Music Stage, continues from 8:00pm – 9:30pm at Metropolitan.
Here are some of the highlights of the festival.
Jazz Arts Music State at the Metropolitan
Musicians will perform from 11am to 9:30pm on Saturday, and 11:30am to 6pm Sunday. Follow the above link to see the schedule for performers.
Close-up Magic
Magicians will perform at the Fountain Amphitheatre on Little Sugar Creek. The shows, featuring some of the areas best illusionists, will be free. Tips are appreciated!
Artists
The heart of the Kings Drive Art Walk is the visual art. Artists will be set up along the Greenway, and will be showing and selling works many media: clay, glass, jewelry, water color, wood, and more.
