Pure Pizza, Charlotte’s first “farm to fork” pizzeria, is opening soon at 7th Street Public Market, 224 East 7th Street, where Reid’s used to be. While they’re gearing up to open, they’re testing their ovens, and giving away free pizza as it comes out. If you’d like to try a slice, stop by starting around 11am-ish. They’ll be giving away pizza until they run out of dough.

I had a couple slices yesterday and they were amazing. You can be sure that everything’s fresh because they just walk over to the Farm Stand and pick up mushrooms, onions, arugula, and whatever else is available for the pies.

If they run out, don’t lose your cool! Check out the rest of 7th Street Public Market. There’s a Farm Stand, open all the hours that the market is open, where you can get locally grown fruits and vegetables, as well as butter, cheese, ice cream and some prepared foods from local farms. Some other vendors you’ll find at the market are Not Just Coffee, Cloud 9 Confections, Meat & Fish Company, Farrar’s Fine Cheesecakes, and more. Opening soon, in addition to Pure Pizza, are Fran’s Filling Station, Tasty Yo, and Bond Street Wines. 7th Street Public Market is open Wed – Fri: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm, and Sat – Sun: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Vendors’ hours may vary, though.

Parking couldn’t be easier. Park above the market, in the 7th Street Station Parking Garage, and bring down your parking ticket to validate.

Tell them you saw it here, so they’ll know who to blame when they run out of dough.
