This event at McColl Center for Visual Art is part of CMS Parent University’s Life Is Your Lab And Your Studio – Full STEAM Ahead 2012
On Sunday, April 15 from 1 to 5 PM, McColl Center for Visual Art is pleased to participate in Spring Family Fun and Education Day in collaboration with Parent University, North Carolina Science Festival Day, and the Arts & Science Council.
Environmental Artist-in-Residence Deanna Pindell and Environmental Conservationist-in-Residence James Collins will lead free exercises to teach students how our own community affects the larger environment. Focusing on watershed ecology, participants will gather on the Center’s front lawn to perform and monitor a soil percolation test where they will discover the ability and speed that soil absorbs rainwater.
The Center is also pleased to welcome students from JH Gunn Elementary (2:30 PM) and Winterfield Elementary (3:30 PM) for step team performances in the Center’s boardroom coordinated by Parent University.
