Free Comic Book Day, a national event, takes place on Saturday, May 5th, 2012. Spandex City Comics, at 3611 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road, is participating, from 11am to 4pm, not just by offering free comic books to customers, but also with a host of other fun activities, including “carnival games,” Marvel sketch artists, door prizes, trivia questions. Also, 10% of sales from 11am to 4pm will be donated to Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, and Spandex City Comics will match any donations of graphics novels.
