Can You Dig It? Charlotte Community Garden Tour 5/5/12

Learn all about Charlotte’s Community Gardens, and how you can participate. This is free event, held on Saturday, May 5th, 2012, from 8am to 1pm.

Join us for the 2nd annual “Can You Dig It: Charlotte Community Garden Tour,” a community event featuring four of Charlotte’s community gardens: Wilmore, Country Club Heights, Central United Methodist, and Winterfield!

We will begin the day at Atherton Market at Atherton Mill between 8:00-9:00 AM. During the tour, we will hear from Friendship Garden’s Henry Owen. We will end the day at Winterfield Garden where you can choose to buy lunch from one of Charlotte’s mobile trucks. You will learn basic gardening skills, how to start a community garden, and success stories from gardeners.

This event is free and open to the public, but we are requesting donations of garden supplies, which will be collected at both the start and end of the tour. Suggestions include; gardening gloves, shovels, seeds, etc.
