One of my favorite radio programs is The Moth. Ordinary people from all walks of life tell stories. We all have a story, right?
Crossroads Charlotte is holding its own homage to The Moth, called, what else, The Cankerworm, on October 14th, 2011, 7pm to 9pm, at Levine Museum of the New South, 200 East 7th Street. The theme this time around is “courage.” Do you have a story (8 minutes or less) about courage? Do you want to hear other people’s stories?
If you want to be on the list of storytellers, email firstname.lastname@example.org for guidelines. Put “cankerworm” in subject line.
I attended a previous installment of Cankerworm, in February at Central Coffee, and really enjoyed it. There were some great storytellers and a very supportive atmosphere.
Note: this event isn’t associated with The Moth. Just inspired by it. This is a free event.
