If you’re a regular Charlotte on the Cheap reader you know how much I love The Last Word. The Last Word is a used book store in the university area, but it’s much more than that. They also sell CDs, DVDs, video games, board games, and more, all at very low prices. They offer a very fair price for your gently used books and other media, especially if you take it in trade credit. They regularly host speakers, art exhibits, and other cultural activities. They have a FREE (small) community room. They have Magic: The Gathering tournaments every Friday, usually free. In case it’s not clear, The Last Word has become a valued part of the community. You should go there and buy lots and lots of stuff and support them!
The Last Word is celebrating their one year anniversary on Friday, November 11th. From 4pm to 7pm, enjoy FREE hot dogs, veggie dogs, and drinks, including wine for adults. Get 5% off all purchases all day in addition to their regular discounts (seniors, students, teachers, military, firefighters, police officers, nurses.) Door prizes will be given out throughout the day.
If you haven’t visited them yet, this is a great time to go. If you have, stop by again and tell them you appreciate them! Stop by on Facebook and say hi too.
